Map of Samseong Station – Metro Line 2, COEX & Entrance Guide

Samseong Station is a busy subway station in Seoul’s Gangnam district and a major arrival point for the COEX convention, shopping and business precinct. The underground station is served by Seoul Metro Line 2 and sits beneath Teheran-ro near its intersection with Yeongdong-daero.

The station provides convenient access to COEX Mall, COEX Convention and Exhibition Center, World Trade Center Seoul, Starfield Library, hotels, offices and major shopping facilities. Although Samseong is not an interchange station, it handles large passenger numbers because of the surrounding commercial district and frequent events at COEX.

## Quick Answer

Samseong Station is located beneath Teheran-ro in Gangnam-gu and is served by Seoul Metro Line 2. Exits 5 and 6 are generally best for COEX Mall, the convention centre and World Trade Center Seoul. Check the event entrance before travelling because the COEX complex is large and different halls may require additional walking.

## Where Is Samseong Station Located?

Samseong Station is located in the Samseong-dong area of Gangnam-gu in southeastern Seoul. It lies between Seolleung Station and Sports Complex Station on Line 2.

Teheran-ro runs west towards Seolleung and Gangnam Station, while Yeongdong-daero runs north and south beside the COEX complex. The surrounding district contains office towers, hotels, department stores, restaurants and exhibition facilities.

The map marker is positioned near the station’s COEX-side entrances, providing a practical arrival point for visitors heading towards the mall, convention centre and World Trade Center Seoul.

## Metro Services

### Seoul Metro Line 2

Line 2 is Seoul’s principal circular subway route. It provides direct services from Samseong Station towards Gangnam, Seolleung, Jamsil, Seongsu, City Hall, Hongik University and Sindorim.

Gangnam Station is two stops west, while Jamsil Station is two stops east. Passengers should check the platform direction carefully because travelling around the wrong side of the circular route can substantially increase journey time.

Samseong Station is not served by Line 9. Bongeunsa Station, located on the opposite side of the COEX complex, provides access to Line 9.

## Station Entrances

Samseong Station has eight numbered exits serving different sides of Teheran-ro and the surrounding business district.

Exits 5 and 6 are the most useful for COEX Mall, COEX Convention and Exhibition Center, World Trade Center Seoul, nearby hotels and the major commercial complex north of the station.

Exit 1 is convenient for Park Hyatt Seoul and buildings on the southeastern side of the station.

Exit 4 serves offices and commercial buildings along the southwestern side of Teheran-ro.

Exits 7 and 8 provide access towards buildings and streets north of the station intersection.

Because Teheran-ro and Yeongdong-daero are wide, heavily trafficked roads, choosing the correct exit is much easier than crossing above ground.

## COEX Mall and Convention Centre

COEX is one of Seoul’s largest shopping, exhibition and entertainment complexes. It contains retail stores, restaurants, cinemas, exhibition halls, conference facilities and Starfield Library.

Visitors arriving on Line 2 should follow signs towards Exits 5 and 6 and the connected passage leading towards COEX.

The complex is extensive, and walking from Samseong Station to a particular exhibition hall can take additional time. Check the hall, gate or meeting location before leaving the station.

## World Trade Center Seoul

World Trade Center Seoul forms part of the larger COEX precinct and includes offices, exhibition facilities, hotels and commercial buildings.

Exits 5 and 6 are generally the most convenient starting points. Directional signs within the underground passages help visitors reach individual buildings without crossing the major roads outside.

## Starfield Library

Starfield Library is located inside COEX Mall and is known for its tall bookshelves and open central reading space.

Visitors can reach the library by following the underground signs from Samseong Station towards COEX Mall. It is not immediately beside the station platforms, so allow time to walk through the shopping complex.

## Buses and Taxis

Numerous Seoul city and regional buses operate along Teheran-ro and Yeongdong-daero. Bus stops are located on different sides of the roads and may serve different travel directions.

Taxis are generally available near major hotels, office buildings and designated roadside pickup areas. Traffic around COEX can become congested during weekday peaks, large exhibitions and major events.

## Station Facilities

Samseong Station provides ticket machines, transport-card facilities, toilets, convenience stores, elevators and escalators.

Underground shops and passages connect the station with nearby commercial buildings. Step-free routes are available, although passengers may need to use a particular elevator or entrance.

## Tips for Using Samseong Station

Use Exits 5 or 6 for COEX, World Trade Center Seoul and Starfield Library.

Check the exact COEX hall or event entrance before travelling.

Confirm your Line 2 direction before boarding.

Allow extra walking time because the COEX complex is large.

Use Bongeunsa Station instead when Line 9 is more convenient for your journey.
